Title: Original Quest Skinner painted hope chest entitled “Naomi’s Hope”

‘Naomi’s Hope for a Cure’ is built around a symbol that meant so much to Naomi as a little girl. While fighting cancer twice, she treasured all of the teddy bears, letters, notes, and gifts of encouragement that she received from friends, family and even people she didn’t know. All were saved in a “Hope Chest,” and symbolized the hope that she needed to fight the cancer battle.

At this evening’s gala, there are 15 “hope chests” that have been handmade by woodcarvers, and painted by famous artists. One of the “hope chests” that depicts Naomi’s personal battle with cancer will remain and return each year to the gala event. Painted by DC’s own Quest Skinner, it will continue its original purpose—to collect letters of hope and donations from those in attendance of each year’s gala event. Attendees at the gala are encouraged to use the stationary and envelopes found beside the chest to write a note of hope to children currently fighting cancer.

Thank you Quest for your talents and energy in creating a beautiful hope chest that will be used at each annual ‘Naomi’s Hope for a Cure’ gala to provide hope to kids with cancer for a healthy future.
